TexSass Art was born out of a love for all things vintage. I used to enjoy hanging out with my grandmother and look at all her lovely things. She had chine and silver, little figurines and old Reader’s Digest books. I loved it all. She would tell me stories about where things came from and how they were used back in the day. We were close, bonded over the love of old things and sentimentality. I’ve carried that into my adulthood. I love nothing more than rummaging around flea markets and antique malls. They are my happy place and I always think of Gaga when I’m picking. Now I get to be immersed in nostalgia and the thrill of the hunt every day.

I love vintage and antique pieces because of the story I imagine they tell. Who was the family that ate dinner on these Louise china plates? What was happening in the early 1900’s New York City when this copper coffee pot was being made? Where has this vintage flower frog held beautiful flower stems upright for the enjoyment of everyone around?

My second love is photography, especially landscapes and photos of this beautiful country. I met David and discovered we had a mutual love of vintage pieces and their history, and he happened to be a seasoned photographer, from David Acuna Photography. It was a perfect match! And out of that mutual love, TexSass Art blossomed and grew into what it is today.

We hope to one day travel the country, capturing the gorgeous landscape that makes America great and bring those images to the shop to share with you.
